Phoenix graduate Drew Gregg earns place at top Drama School
Former Phoenix student Drew Gregg has successfully auditioned and won a place at leading London based drama school, Drama Centre, where he will be studying for a BA in Acting. Drew was a student at Phoenix Theatre School from 2010 until he graduated in 2015, studying drama, musical theatre and dance. Drew embraced performing from the start and took part in every showcase, workshop and theatre trip, successfully auditioning and performing in our productions of Oliver 2012, Annie 2013, West Side Story 2014, Peter Pan 2015 and A Midsummer Night’s Dream 2017. Drew appeared in all our pantomimes from 2011 to 2015 as a chorus member and progressed to taking the lead roles of Dandini in Cinderella 2016 and Henchman in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 2017. Drew graduated as a student of Phoenix in 2015 and took an internship within the Phoenix office as a production assistant, a role which he carried out for two years whilst auditioning for professional drama schools and keeping up his training and performing. Drew has shown such dedication and resilience during his audition period, never losing faith that he would succeed. His hard work, talent and determination has really paid off and Drew says of his time at Phoenix; “ I owe so much to my time at Phoenix and do not think I would be where I am today without it. From starting my classes when I was 13 years old, all the way up to playing principal comic roles in the pantomimes, I developed a sense of play at Phoenix that has become invaluable to my current training and my acting itself. Finding fun in everything I do, no matter how large or small the role, was a massive part of my learning at Phoenix and it’s something I still strive for and remind myself each time I perform.” Spread your wings and fly Drew, we are very proud of you.
